As the school year comes to an end, I reflect with immense pride on the achievements of our young learners. This year has been rich with learning opportunities and remarkable growth for everyone. Our learning center’s success is a testament to the unwavering dedication and commitment of our staff, and the incredible resilience shown by our learners. Your partnership has been instrumental in allowing us to embrace new ideas and provide the best possible learning and educational opportunities

Moving forward

As we approach the Fall 2025 semester, we understand that transitions to a new care and learning setting can be a significant experience for your entire family. These moments often bring a mix of emotions, from great excitement and joy to natural feelings of uncertainty or concern.

For children, moving to a new classroom means new possibilities, new friends, and a new teacher or caregiver. It’s also common for children to experience a shift in familiar routines or people. Similarly, parents may have mixed reactions to their child growing older, wondering if they are truly ready for the next stage.

Every transition involves changes, presenting both opportunities and challenges. Our goal is to provide comprehensive support and guidance to help your family feel secure and ready for this next step. We truly value and respect each family’s unique emotions and individual situations during this time.

Over the next few weeks, our dedicated staff will be actively supporting both children and families as we begin the transition process to their new classroom settings. We are prepared to make this move as smooth and positive as possible for everyone. Below are strategies to support families and children.

For Infant/Toddler/Preschool classrooms

  • New Teacher will visit during the morning message to meet the students that will be in their classroom.
  • New Teacher will share a read a story, teach a song, or dance with their new students.
  • Children will tour their new classroom

For PreK Classrooms

  • Teachers will read books about kindergarten.
  • Children will create a list of things they think will be different or the same at CSCC.
  • Children will have an opportunity to practice carrying a tray with blocks on it that represent food so they can see what it feels like to carry a tray of food from the school cafeteria.
  • Children will practice hand raising and waiting their turn to talk.
  • Children will engage in conversation on how to be a good friend.

What You Can Do at Home

  • Acknowledge your child’s feelings. Know that some behaviors may be because of anxiety about the transition.
  • Keep your home routines and rituals consistent. This will help your child feel a sense of security and stability at home.
  • Read books about moving on to kindergarten and talk with your child about the characters and their feelings.
  • Encourage older siblings to share their kindergarten experiences and share your own fond memories.
  • Learn what you can in advance about your child’s kindergarten teacher, classroom, and routines.
  • If possible, visit the kindergarten class before the start of the school year. With your child, write down any questions you have for the teacher or school staff.
  • Talk with families of children who already attend the school.
  • Ask them questions about their experiences and for any advice they have for new families.
